Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as we begin and until we conclude.
May mercy and compassion be poured forth upon us
in this world and the next.

O Christ,
may we always glorify your resurrection,
especially on this day,
with chaste hearts, clear consciences and good deeds, so that we can sincerely proclaim it throughout the
world.
May we live enlightened by it
and die in the hope of our own resurrection.

FIRST PRAYER
Lord, have mercy on us and save us.
O Lord,
by your resurrection you have filled our hearts with
gladness
and have restored joy to our lives.
Your resurrection became again what God desired in the beginning;
a path towards him, participation in his life, a
breath of his love,
and a hope to be fulfilled in the kingdom of heaven,
where we shall praise you, with your Father, and your Holy Spirit, for ever. Amen.

SECOND PRAYER
Lord, have mercy on us and save us.
O Christ,
illumine us with your light in this life,
for you have delivered us from the shadows of death,
that we might become the children of light.
May we walk in the light of your path
that we may act in the light of your grace.
May we go forward to the light of your resurrection
and one day reach the light of your glory,
contemplating you, face to face, in an indescribable
bliss of happiness.
We shall praise you, your Father and your Holy Spirit, for ever. Amen.

EVENING PSALMS
Psalm 141: 1-4
O LORD, to you I call; hasten to me;
hearken to my voice when I call upon you;

Let my prayer come like incense before you;

Praise, glory and honor to Christ, the perpetual victim of our passover,
who died once upon the cross and now lives for ever.
He shares his life with us,

for we are the children of God and the inheritors of the heavenly kingdom.
To the Good One is due glory and honor this evening,
and all the days of our lives,
now and for ever. Amen.

SEDRO
O Son of God,
you were glorified by your death and resurrection
because your resurrection unveiled for us the meaning of you death,
and on the abasement of your cross the light of glory has shone.
O Hell, where is your victory?
O Death, where is your sting?
The sting of death is sin, and you have freed us from it.
The power of death is the law, and you have abolished it.
Your resurrection was a renewal of all things
and in you we are a new creation in your image.
Our hope is that you will change our weak bodies into the image of your glorious body.
Therefore, we ask you that the Sunday of your resurrection be for us a perpetual feast day
which we celebrate each Sunday in your Church.
Grant that we be rooted in you,
learned about you,
grow in you and by you be fulfilled.

that at the time of your second coming we may appear

Today all the apostles believed in the resurrection of the Lord, but Thomas was absent.
The following Sunday Thomas believed and exclaimed:
“My Lord and my God!”

The faith of the Church rests upon the faith of the apostles: it proclaims your resurrection to the ends of the earth.

O Lord,
we adore you, who came down from heaven,
assumed our humanity.

died on the wood of the cross for our redemption,
descended from the cross to the tomb,
and came out of it to bring life, life for us.
On this evening of the third Sunday of your resurrection grant us the faith of the holy women, but not their fright, the faith of the apostles, but not their fear,
the faith of Thomas, but not his hesitation,
that our faith may be proclaimed by our deeds,
and our deeds lead us to life in your kingdom.

A Reading from the book of Zechariah
Zechariah 2:12-17
For thus said the LORD of hosts (after he had already sent me) concerning the nations that have plundered you: Whoever touches you touches the apple of my eye. See, I wave my hand over them; they become plunder for their slaves. Thus you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me. Sing and rejoice, O daughter Zion! See, I am coming to dwell among you, says the LORD. Many nations shall join themselves to the LORD on that day, and they shall be his people, and he will dwell among you, and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. The LORD will possess Judah as his portion of the holy land, and he will again choose Jerusalem. Silence, all mankind, in the presence of the LORD! for he stirs forth from his holy dwelling.

A Reading from the Acts of the Apostles
Acts 11: 1-18
Now the apostles and the brothers who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles too had accepted the word of God. So when Peter went up to Jerusalem the circumcised believers confronted him, saying, “You entered the house of uncircumcised people and ate with them.” Peter began and explained it to them step by step, saying, “I was at prayer in the city of Joppa when in a trance I had a vision, something resembling a large sheet coming down, lowered from the sky by its four corners, and it came to me. Looking intently into it, I observed and saw the four-legged animals of the earth, the wild beasts, the reptiles, and the birds of the sky. I also heard a voice say to me, ‘Get up, Peter. Slaughter and eat.’ But I said, ‘Certainly not, sir, because nothing profane or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’ But a second time a voice from heaven answered, ‘What God has made clean, you are not to call profane.’ This happened three times, and then everything was drawn up again into the sky. Just then three men appeared at the house where we were, who had been sent to me from Caesarea. The Spirit told me to accompany them without discriminating. These six brothers also went with me, and we entered the man’s house. He related to us how he had seen the angel standing in his house, saying, ‘Send someone to Joppa and summon Simon, who is called Peter, who will speak words to you by which you and all your household will be saved.’ As I began to speak, the holy Spirit fell upon them as it had upon us at the beginning, and I remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said, ‘John baptized with water but you will be baptized with the holy Spirit.’ If then God gave them the same gift he gave to us when we came to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to be able to hinder God?” When they heard this, they stopped objecting and glorified God, saying, “God has then granted life-giving repentance to the Gentiles too.”

SUPPLICATION
O Son, by your resurrection you saved the Church from error; hear our supplications and have mercy on us.
You reconciled heaven and earth, grant peace to your Church and keep her children in the light of the cross.
The Son has reconciled us, the peace of God has descended on us. May your peace, O Lord, descend upon us so that through it we may come to you. Glory to you, splendor of the Father; thanksgiving to you, Savior of the world and resurrection of those who rest; praise to you, Word of the Father through whom he told us all things.

Here are my hands, feet and heart, Thomas; put in your finger and believe. Come touch my wounds; see the scars of the whiplashes. Thomas’ doubt vanishes; believing, he prostrates himself. Blessed is he who shares the faith of the apostles without doubt.
Go throughout the land and proclaim that Christ is raised from the dead; proclaim what you saw with your eyes, heard with your ears and believed to the very depths of your soul. Be then witnesses to his resurrection and proclaim his word.
Brothers and sisters, believe in the resurrection of the Savior; I saw the nail marks, the wound made by the spears and that of the whiplashes; believe and do not doubt.
Let us remember the prophets, apostles and martyrs, all those who have labored and suffered in the vineyard of the Lord: Saint James, Saint Maron and his companions, and Saint Ephrem, Harp of the Holy Spirit. O God, through their prayers strengthen the weak, comfort the sick, grant pardon to the deceased and forgive the faults of us poor sinners.
Exalt, O Lord, the memory of your Mother and your saints; through their prayers grant pardon to our deceased. Through the prayers of your Mother, the prophets, apostles and martyrs, watch over the living, and in your mercy forgive those who have died.

EXAMINATION OF CONSCIENCE
Let us thank God for all the graces he has bestowed on us this day which has passed in calm and peace.
Let us recall our failings against the commandments of God an the Church in thought, word, deed, or omission.
